The Indian Ocean nation of Mauritius is offering a luxury trip for two to the paradise island, in an exciting new global social media flash campaign to mark the reopening of its borders to international travellers from 1st October.

The campaign will invite people from all over the world to like and comment on the ‘#TakeMeToMauritiusNow’ posts on Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) Facebook and Instagram pages. Everyone who likes and comments on the posts will be in with a chance of winning the unique prize.

The competition will launch on 27th September to coincide with World Tourism Day, and will run until 30th September. The lucky winner will be announced on 1st October, to coincide with Mauritius re-opening its borders to fully-vaccinated visitors from around the world.

The start of October also marks the beginning of Mauritius’ official holiday season as tourists book their winter sun breaks. Mauritius boasts luxury resort hotels, miles of pristine coastline, white sandy beaches and nature trails as well as world-leading historical, cultural and culinary attractions.

An early lockdown, strict quarantine measures and rapid vaccination rollout meant Mauritius remained almost Covid-free throughout the pandemic. More than 83 per cent of the adult population has been double-vaccinated – the highest rate across the whole of Africa – allowing tourists to feel safe and secure throughout their holidays.

All entrants will be asked to like and comment on the #TakeMeToMauritiusNow Facebook post or Instagram post to participate in the lucky draw to win a luxury trip for two to Mauritius.

The winning entrant will need to be fully-vaccinated, and tested on arrival in Mauritius in accordance with the new requirements, in order to enter the country without quarantine.
